Hessed House has worked with Wegman for over two decades on a variety of projects. They did almost all of the major construction projects, including our original building (converting a city incinerator into the state’s second largest homeless shelter over multiple phases) and our new comprehensive resource center (converting a rubber manufacturing facility into a multi-discipline service center for homeless families and individuals). Two factors have put Wegman ahead of the rest for us: quality and ethical dealings. Wegman doesn’t cut corners. Period. Every project that they have ever done for us has withstood years of ultra-abuse from us. Every project where we have tried to save a few dollars by going with an inferior contractor, the consequences have been obvious within a few years. I cannot overemphasize this point. As a faith-based organization, it is important for us to work with ethical organizations. Our department recently worked with R.C. Wegman on the construction of our new Fire Station #8. This was the fourth fire station that R.C. Wegman built for the City of Aurora.
